Operation Heartland is a large-scale regenerative masterplan aimed at restoring, redesigning, and revitalizing America’s Central Plains — one of the most strategic yet degraded regions on Earth.
This project is founded on a deep respect for natural systems and draws upon decades of real-world experience in regenerative territorial planning. The design approach follows principles refined by Terracrua Design: working with nature’s patterns, respecting topography, and optimizing for both ecology and economy.
Advanced Watershed Modeling and Terrain Optimization
Retention Ponds, Lakes, Wetlands, and Strategic Flood Control
Shelterbelts, Biodiversity Corridors, and Fire-Resilient Zones
At the heart of Operation Heartland is a deep commitment to restoring the natural intelligence of the land. Our approach begins with reading the landscape — understanding its shape, its waters, its forgotten potential. Using cutting-edge drone surveying, LIDAR technology, and GIS analysis, we generate high-resolution topographic models that unveil the hidden language of watersheds and terrain. These maps allow us to design in harmony with the land’s contours, identifying key points of intervention and crafting strategies that enhance water infiltration, reduce erosion, and optimize productive use. This is where regeneration begins — not with machinery or materials, but with clarity and precision.
Once the land’s story is revealed, we begin shaping its future through water. We design and implement integrated systems that capture, store, and distribute rainfall efficiently across vast areas. Retention ponds, lakes, wetlands, and sculpted earthworks are strategically placed to stabilize the hydrology, recharge underground reserves, and prevent the kind of water loss that has defined decades of decline. These systems are not just defensive — they are the foundation of abundance, transforming landscapes that were once brittle and dry into territories of resilience and renewal.
As the water returns, so does life. We weave green infrastructure through the plains — planting forests, shelterbelts, and biodiversity corridors that stitch together fractured ecosystems. These living systems buffer winds, protect soils, and create fire-resilient zones, while also serving as ecological pathways that bring wildlife and biodiversity back into the heart of agricultural land. Agriculture itself is reimagined through this framework: integrated with trees, with pasture rotations, with productive diversity
that mimics natural systems.
This is how we regenerate not just land, but possibility. Through mapping, water, and vegetation, Operation Heartland creates a living infrastructure where human prosperity is built on ecological health. It is a landscape not extracted from, but designed to thrive.
